Can I buy or sell a home during covid 19?

Yes you can! Most areas have some kind of stay at home order and social distancing restrictions to prevent the spread of disease. While the process looks a bit different today than it did a few months ago, Buyers still need to buy and sellers still need to sell. The real estate industry is using technology to help ensure the safety of our clients and colleagues.

It is the innovation that some customers have been crying out for. Technology allows us to buy and sell homes from the comfort of your living room.

Covid-19 Safety Precautions

When you are looking through homes online, narrow it down to the houses that could be “the one” before setting a showing. It’s not the time to be out casually looking. Ask your agent for things like aerial maps, CCRs, well logs, utility info etc to help you decide if it is a good potential home. As for a walk through video to limit exposure.

During physical property showings and inspections we have implemented the following precautions.

Drive in separate cars to showings.

Follow CDC guidelines, including wearing masks, gloves, and booties, and washing your hands or using hand sanitizer between each property. Stay at least 6 feet away from everyone, even your agent and try not to touch anything in the home.

We are asking sellers and agents to turn on all lights and open drawers and doors before the showing to limit the need to touch anything. Agents are asked to use gloves and sanitize anything touched.

Don’t bring friends or family along. The people who will be on title as the owners are the only ones who should be accompany you. And if possible, leave the kids at home.

Together we can make your home sales easy and safe.
